World highest Mountains Peaks in Nepal

There are more than 1300 mountains peaks including the highest mountain range in the world. Among the top 10 list of Highest Mountains of the world, 8 mountains are located in Nepal and other 2 is located in Pakistan (second and ninth is located in Pakistan and others in Nepal). At present there are 326 peaks opened for mountaineering expeditions in Nepal including peaks above 800 meters (some of the 13 peaks are part of the same massif as their main peak).

Height: 8586 meters (28169 Ft.)

Location: Taplejung District. Part of the Northern Kanchenjunga Himalayan range

First Ascenders: George Band and Joe Band

3. Lhotse- The Mountain Wall of Legends

Height: 8516 meters (27904 Ft.)

Location: The Khumbu Region. Part of the Mahalangur Himalayan Range and Everest massif

First Ascenders: Ernst Reiss and Fritz Luchsinger

4. Mount Makalu- The Himalayan Pyramid

Height: 8485 meters (27838 Ft.)

Location: The Khumbu region. A Part of the the Makalu Mahalangur Himilayan range

5. Mount Cho Oyu_ The Turquoise Goddess

Height: 8188 meters (26864 Ft.)
